Flights For You will lease/own and operate aircraft and staff licensed pilots to provide air transportation to individuals 1) in need of medical treatment, or 2) in response to special needs requests. The primary criteria for assistance will be a combination of the following:

1) demonstrated need for medical emergency transportation, 2) under the care of a health care professional and 3) inability to pay transportation expenses. Flights For You will coordinate with community service organizations (CSO) to provide air transportation to fulfill the CSO’s exempt activities, such as emergency medical treatment flights with Mercy Medical Airlift. Flights For You pilots are registered members of Angel Flight Mid Atlantic.

Initially, Flights For You will operate two aircraft/pilot teams based in Frederick, MD. Assistance will primarily serve a 500 mile radius from the Frederick, MD site. Dean Durbin is a licensed, instrument rated pilot with over 2000 hours flying time . Jill Weber is also a licensed, instrument rated pilot with approximately 500 hours. flying time. Funding will be sought to purchase a twin engine aircraft that is equipped for 6 place seating and inclement weather flying.

The charitable sector we are working towards helping full time is individuals in need of specialized medical treatment that can be obtained only at distances from their homes that air transportation is needed. Our missions are coordinated by Angel Flight Mid Atlantic. There is a huge need for pilots and airplanes, many missions go unfilled due to lack of volunteers to fly these special needs people. Flights For You is working towards being able to fly these missions as a full time job, thereby being able to provide 12 to 20 flights per month as opposed to 1 or 2 at the present time. Flights For You feels that this charitable work is critical to the well being of all patients that we fly, since many are involved in special treatment centers such as NIH and the Sloane/Kettering hospital in New York.

At this time, we have no major funding sources and are actively looking for such sources.

In order for Flights For You to operate full time as transportation for our special needs patients, we are looking for both general operating support as well as specific project support. Our specific project will be the acquisition of a 6 seater, twin engine aircraft equipped for known icing situations. This would greatly reduce the weather related cancellations, and with 6 seats instead of 4, increase our mission capacity to include those where families are traveling together for treatments. This aircraft would cost between $650,000 and $1,000,000.00, dependant upon purchasing new or used.
